AL MESLINSKY 

Al Meslinsky has served in many leadership roles in his over thirty years as a professional

trainer in New York State government. His primary focus has been on the development of supervisors and managers who work in a number of government agencies within the eighteen counties of Western New York.

In 1996 Al co-founded the Western New York Chapter of the New York State Training Council, and from that time served as chair or vice chair until his retirement in 2011. He also was a member of the statewide Training Council’s Executive Committee, which provided training and development opportunities for all employees of New York State. Al was instrumental in establishing and nurturing a Leadership Development program that prepared over three hundred mid to upper level government managers in Western New York for the many challenges they faced within their respective agencies. In 2007, Al Meslinsky was honored as the first recipient of the Training Council’s Daniel M. Shaw Ambassador Award, recognizing his leadership role in the New York State Training community.

Al has served on the Board of the Niagara Frontier Chapter of ASTD, and is a member of the National speaker’s Association.

Al is still active in retirement. Professionally, he is a partner with colleague and friend Dr. Bruce Baum, forming the training firm “Applied Learning Associates”. Personally, Al is spending more time with family, in addition to embracing his interests in gardening, tennis and bicycling. He also volunteers at the historic Buffalo Botanical Gardens, and has recently joined a barbership group entitled Friends of Harmony.
